In the area of Traianoupolis, close to the city founded by Emperor Trajan, lies the village of Loutra, which is well-known for its thermal baths. Loutra is situated about 16 km northeast of Alexandroupolis. The ruins of ancient Traianoupolis can be found next to the modern village of Loutra. Visitors can explore the 'Hana' thermal baths and nearby vaulted buildings, all steeped in history. Today, many people come to this area to enjoy the soothing thermal waters. Just north of the village in Platanotopos, there’s a lovely recreational area surrounded by lush vegetation along the stream. You'll also find a charming chapel dedicated to Prophet Elias and several scenic walking paths in the vicinity.
