Koinira has a long beach along the coast of the village, consisting mainly of pebbles and sand, but there is also a smaller sandy beach. There is always space on the beach as it is not very crowded and it is about 22 km from Limenas. Koinira has a rich history dating back to Phoenician times and, together with 'Ainira', was the mining centre of the area, now known by the locals as 'Loutro'. Dense vegetation of olive and pine trees covers the surrounding slopes and the panoramic views are breathtaking.
