Kremastos Waterfall. The largest waterfall in the world that flows directly into the sea.
Kremastos Waterfall, a unique and particularly rare natural treasure of Samothrace, is a breathtaking natural marvel. Located in the southern part of the island, it is accessible only by excursion boats that circle the island. This is because the waterfall falls directly into the sea, unlike the many little pools (vathres) found on Samothrace. Its most striking feature is its crystal-clear waters, which cascade nearly 100 meters directly into the sea. During the summer months, the flow is less forceful, while in winter, the waters completely cover the rock cavity. Visitors fortunate enough to experience this natural wonder can dive into the sea below and swim under the waterfall, creating an unforgettable experience. For the more adventurous, rappel missions down the falls are also available. The Kremastos Gorge is one of the most impressive areas on the island and a highlight for canyoning enthusiasts.
