Petrota Beach is a unique place where the prefectures of Rhodope and Evros meet. The road to the beach holds historical significance, as it passes by the megalithic monument known as the "Rock of Petrota" — a prehistoric site where Neolithic humans quarried stone for making tools. After passing the hill of the Petrota settlement, visitors arrive at a quiet and idyllic coastal landscape. A nearby stream winds through a sycamore forest and empties into a sandy beach with crystal-clear waters.

The beach, a blend of sand and pebbles, remains untouched by mass tourism and offers a serene atmosphere for swimming, playing in the waves, and exploring the lively seabed. For a unique nature experience, visitors can venture into the surrounding area to discover hidden coves. Heading east, the journey continues along a 2 km dirt track that connects to the paved coastal road leading to Dikella and Makri. From there, you can reach the archaeological site of Mesimvria.
