Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Metropolis of Xanthi and Perithori
The Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Metropolis of Xanthi and Perithori is located in the eastern wing of the Monastery of Panagia Archangeliotissa, northeast of Xanthi. The collection, established in the early 1960s by Metropolitan Antonios of Xanthi, features an array of exhibits, including portable icons, silver liturgical vessels, manuscripts, printed liturgical books, embroidered liturgical fabrics, and wood carvings. Spanning the end of the Byzantine period to the early 20th century, these exhibits provide a comprehensive overview of the history of Byzantine and post-Byzantine art in the Thrace region.
