Philippi Festival
The Philippi Festival is the highlight of the summer, not only for the local community but for the whole region. It features major theatrical productions, mostly by state theatre companies, in the best-preserved ancient theatre in northern Greece. This incredible venue allows younger generations to enjoy performances in a setting rich in history. For over 60 years, the Philippi Festival has been an important part of our cultural scene, enriching the lives of locals and visitors alike. Each year the festival attracts crowds from all over the region with its diverse line-up of performances. Its growing importance is reflected in the fact that the archaeological site of Philippi has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, cementing its status as the cultural jewel of the region.
